Altus Denoiser from innobright

Altus is a multi-platform, Monte-Carlo render denoiser that works as a post-process. We let you generate fast, noisy renders with smaller samples per pixel (SPP) and filter them to produce high quality images & animation. We give you the quality you want, in a fraction of the time.
Altus Denoiser can be integrated into your workflow in several different ways.

Altus CLD: A command-line denoiser (included in Altus ServerPro) let’s you use Altus as a post-process tool. As a post-process tool, you can create discrete jobs in your render farm automation software to denoise frames after they have completed rendering. See how Altus can integrate with popular render farm queue automation software packages.

Altus Studio: A graphical user interface that helps you manage your Altus projects with an interactive image viewer. See GUI for more information.

Several renderers come with Altus integrated. With a click you can setup renders to generate all the information Altus requires and denoise your renders without additional setup.

When rendering using Monte Carlo ray tracing, the image will initially be noisy and over time it will converge to a high quality noiseless image. Unfortunately physically-based rendering in general can take a long time for a render to converge to a completely noise free image. The render will need more samples in order for the image to converge and reduce noise. Here is an image showing the noise reduction as you increase the samples per pixel.

We offer a standalone denoiser (Altus Studio and Altus ServerPro) as well as an integrated denoiser for Redshift, Maxwell, Arnold (BETA), and Nuke (BETA).

If you want to use Altus denoiser on ANY renderer, we recommend the standalone denosier.

If you want to use Altus as an integrated denoiser in your favorite renderer, then the integrated offerings will work for you.

Yes! Altus can denoise animation sequences as well as individual still images.

Our standalone products (Altus-Studio and Altus-ServerPro) can denoise animation sequences with “temporal filtering”, a special algorithm that includes neighboring frames for better detail preservation and consistent motion.

Our integrated products (Altus-Maxwell, Altus-Redshift, and soon Altus-Arnold) can denoise animations but without “temporal filtering” as the neighbor frames may not be rendered during denoising. However, we’ve found that even without temporal filtering the denoise quality is still competitive.

Licenses for Altus products

Altus denoiser is free to use with watermark. To remove the watermark buy licenses for Altus products.

Altus uses a subscription model to offer the latest versions and customer support.

Subscription length can be purchased for 3 months to a full year (but not limited too). Once the chosen subscription length comes to it’s end, the software will default back to a watermarked version.

Floating license means that a single computer (a license server) is provided with a number of licenses that it can pool together. The license server will give a license to any computer on the network that requests one. The number of floating licenses you have defines the number machines that can denoise with Altus concurrently.
Node-locked licenses are tied to a specific machine’s MAC Address. The licenses cannot be transferred to another machine. Node-locked licenses may be purchased from our shop page: http://www.innobright.com/buy-now
A license will be sent to your email within 24 hours of the purchase date.

Significant Savings for Production!

Altus Innobright allowed us to generate light image renders with noise, that when filtered have the same quality as heavy renders that take a longer time to process. When rendering complex images, time has improved by up to 30%, resulting in significant production savings. Aronnax Animation Studios is very pleased with the benefits achieved during the production of the animated feature film “condorito".

“Altus saves on both OPEX and CAPEX!”

Altus is essential to our pipeline. Altus doesn’t just speed things up a bit, it removes the noise/speed compromise altogether. We would struggle to achieve the same quality in the 30 minute render that we get in the Altus filtered 12 minute render.

Great Asset!

Innobright Altus is a great asset in our production pipeline which helped us to reduce render times significantly and save hardware resources for other tasks, without compromising the final quality of the output.
